Is Confidence something that you struggle with?

I hear from a lot of artists that confidence – or rather a lack of it – is a concern for them.
As an artist, there is a lot of putting yourself and your art out there for others and waiting to see how they respond.
Every time you have an exhibition, apply for a grant, submit work for an art prize, offer new work for sale, or post work on your sites – you are putting yourself out there.

That can be hard at times. But when we have a good dose of self-belief and confidence that all becomes far less scary.
Being confident helps you to ‘weather the storms’ to believe in yourself and keep on making progress.

Growing confidence is more than appearing to be confident and it is more than willpower.

I created a special program ‘Reclaim Your Confident Creative Self’ for artists to build confidence and resilience and deal with things like an overactive inner critic, using techniques, strategies, information and support. You can find more information at the bottom of this page (I only run this program live once a year so don’t miss out).

In the meantime, here is a quiz designed to check your confidence levels and to offer you a few tips in your results.

If you’d like to work on your self-belief, confidence and mindset, here are some options for you:
